The passenger side yielded great results and the driver side stayed bone dry.* Testing was over 3000 extremely hard miles and testing it in every situation from cruising to flat out everyday of testing. Then gets hooked to the throttle body to*ĭraw through the intake and get burned clean in the combustion chamber as per EPA regulations. The system has a one directional flow that scavenges the clean air from the passenger side pickup on the intake tube right before the turbo and then get drawn through the crankcase and out the driver side swivel connection right above the starter coming out of the engine block. Is off the heavy load on the passenger side of the ecoboost motor. The results were consistent every time unlike the ecoboost trucks with the larger 3.5L,*these motors have a much more efficient PCV system that the system does not require a dual valve setup or clean side separator. We have recently switched to a Single Valve Kit after extensive testing. Maybe its a 2017 thing pertaining to the little sensor on the PCV.This is how UPR explains reason for using the passenger side:Ģ015 Ecoboost Mustang PCV Function and Flow Explained Personally, I get a lot of oil smell when the car blows off - I would assume we should be running a valve on the PCV instead of it just being open, but I was assuming mine was set up the same as others that do not have issues. The evap harness connects to the lower boost pipe, another tube with a check valve, and connects to the smaller nipple on the 2j intake. It didn't come with one and none was mentioned. My PCV goes from the existing right-angle PCV fitting (had to keep it in the loop due to a sensor not present on earlier cars), behind the engine cover along the firewall, then loops down to the 2j intake.

I have the cobb evap fix thingy, not sure about OP. I'm a 2017, OP is a 2016, so we're both newer-style EVAP harnesses. When I get home I'll grab a few pics of how I have mine set up (since I am getting the same thing as OP). A lot of this would be a non-issue if they had even a basic install guide. I let them know that a few of us get it and asked if they could give us a definitive "normal or not". When I get a response I'll post back here. I just called 2j, left a message asking about the code and left my number for a call back. Click to expand. It doesn't create a CEL (at least for me), it simply creates a stored code p04db.
